Other clinics visits policy
By signing the enrolment form with our clinic, you have agreed to seek medical care from us for all your health concerns. If you choose to visit another walk-in clinic, it could result in a penalty for our clinic from the Ministry of Health.

Please note that frequent visits to other clinics may violate the terms of the registration contract and may result in the removal of your name from our patient list without a notification. However, it’s important to mention that visits to hospitals, emergency departments, specialists, or any other medical facility outside Ottawa are exempt from this policy.

Scent Free Environment
Medhaven Medical Centre has implemented a Scent-Free Policy to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all visitors. The use of scented products can cause adverse reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches, which can be harmful to patients and staff members alike.

We kindly request that visitors refrain from wearing scented products during their visit to our center. This includes but is not limited to perfumes, colognes, body sprays, lotions, and other scented personal care items. We understand that some individuals may have sensitivities or allergies to these products, and we strive to accommodate their needs by creating a scent-free environment.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and comfortable atmosphere for everyone at Medhaven.

Health cards
We apologize, but we are unable to admit patients who do not have a valid health card. We kindly request that you verify the expiry date on your health card before your visit to ensure it is still valid.

If your health card has expired, please take necessary steps to renew it before your next visit. You can contact MOHLTC INFOline at 1-866-291-0609 or ServiceOntario Health Card Services-OHIP Office at 1-800-267-8097 to renew your health card.

Test results
If your test results come back normal, we will not contact you. However, if your results indicate a positive finding, we will reach out to you by phone to discuss the findings. If you do not receive a call, this means that your doctor did not find any abnormalities in your test, and there is no need for you to follow up.

Please note that we do not use email for any communication except for appointment reminders.

If you wish to obtain a copy of your test results, there will be a fee associated with the service. Please let us know if you would like to receive a copy, and we can provide you with more information on the associated fees.

Notarization and Guarantorship
We regret to inform you that we are unable to notarize documents or act as guarantors. We kindly ask that you seek assistance from a lawyer for these purposes.

Teaching
At Medhaven, we believe that medical students and residents are the future of healthcare, and it is our responsibility to provide them with the necessary training. We are proud to be a teaching center affiliated with uOttawa, and as such, you or a family member may be seen by a medical student or resident during your visit before you see your doctor.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in supporting the education of our future healthcare providers. If you have any concerns or questions about the involvement of medical students or residents in your care, please do not hesitate to speak with your doctor or a member of our staff.

Appropriate behavior
At Medhaven, we are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all patients and staff members. Inappropriate or violent behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of aggression, abuse, or harassment towards our team members or other patients.

Please be aware that our doctors have the right to terminate the patient-physician relationship if a patient engages in violent or inappropriate behavior at our center. We take this matter very seriously, and any such incidents will be handled promptly and appropriately.

No-Show Fee
We value your time and understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. We kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If you fail to show up for your scheduled appointment without providing at least 24 hours’ notice, a $50 no-show fee will be applied for the regular visits and $100 for mental health consultation. Please be aware that we reserve the right to collect this fee before scheduling any future appointments.

Health Treasure Pharmacy 
Health Treasure Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy that is owned and operated by a licensed pharmacist. Please note that Medhaven Medical Centre has no business interest in or partnership with Health Treasure  Pharmacy.
